Mario Nixon is an excellent photographer and somewhat of a perfectionist when it comes to his pictures. You can tell that he is very dedicated by the quality and variety of his work. We were married at the Atlantis Resort on Paradise Island in the Bahamas and the pictures came out beautifully. We also were able to schedule some additional time with Mario for the day after the wedding in order to get more pictures just dedicated to us as newlyweds. Mario was amazing! Planning an elopement is a tad stressful, it's hard to not meet with vendors in person. Mario made it SO EASY for our destination wedding in beautiful Eleuthera. He responded quickly to texts and calls, and when he showed up - he showed up!!! He was fun and funny and kept things light hearted - not inundating my groom and son with too many pictures, taking just the right amount. He was game to try some of my funny ideas, not to mention the absolutely BEAUTIFUL photographs!!! Amazing work that captured our day and personalities!!!

Mario Provided The BEST Experience of our Wedding Planning. I found Mario Nixon through internet search for Atlantis photographer and loved his photos online. He was reasonably priced and wonderful to work with! He was super responsive whenever we emailed for months before the wedding and had a planning call, as well as met in person a few days before the wedding at the beach area so we could finalize what I wanted. He was VERY accommodating and so easy and gracious to work with. And he made our wedding day so fun and great for all our guests and us! Everyone commented how nice and great he was. We received our photos timely online and they were fantastic!! We were very sweaty from the heat/humidity (he never complained although he had to be miserable!), and he edited out all the guys sweat stains - made the pics look so good! I loved every moment of working with Mario, and highly recommend him!!
Recently hired Mario to capture our proposal in Nassau Bahamas. Would highly recommend 10/10, the morning of the shoot the weather was awful and nearly ruined my proposal. Mario went out of his way to move around his schedule to push back our shoot several hours in hopes the storm would pass. He was on time, super fun, very talented photographer and very competitive pricing! Everything ended up being perfect and a great story to tell all thanks to Mario 🥂
We were married at the Cloister, at the Four Season Ocean Club on Paradise Island in the Bahamas. We chose Mario for his quality and good value. Mario knew the venue well and took some fabulous photos! He was very friendly yet professional and we had a good rapport which was great. He was very easy to communicate with, knew all the best locations at Atlantis for family photos. He was also very fast getting our images back. Mario was fantastic for our family/friends birthday celebration . We took formal family pictures before the event and candid shots the rest of the evening. It was a large celebration of 138 people. When we received the photos, Mario was everywhere and great photos to show for it!

Mario was, in a word, fabulous. Of all my wedding expenses, photography was definitely the most important! Prior to my own wedding, I spent years working in the wedding photography business as a graphic designer. I have literally seen thousands and thousands of wedding pictures. When consulting with potential brides, I would tell them this: “The cake gets eaten, flowers wilt, the music ends, your dress gets put away, you may even upgrade your ring someday… except for your husband, your wedding photos will be the most cherished remainder of your special day! And your photographer will have the most meaningful and important job to do of anyone – because you only get one chance at your pictures!” This experience in the industry – while it made me extra knowledgeable – it also made me extra finicky! I am so thankful we found Mario and entrusted him with our precious memories! He was super friendly and professional. He was very attentive to my needs – quick to answer questions as we communicated prior to (and after) the wedding and very accommodating to my specific requests… and believe me, I had some very specific requests!My husband, Jake, and I had a dream wedding at the Atlantis. I did not get to meet Mario in person until right before the ceremony and I’ll admit I was nervous (not about him, just general pre-wedding jitters!) When we did meet, he just had this ease about him that was contagious – very calming. He got me to relax and we took a couple of pre-wedding shots with my family but I was ready to get the show on the road! During the ceremony, Mario was amazing – he blended seamlessly into the wedding ambiance – not intrusive in the least. My attention was fully on my husband-to-be. Not only did Mario get pictures of all the little details that so much effort gets put into – the programs, the jewelry, the flowers… somehow he was able to capture all these poignant little moments that, as you stand there breathlessly taking part in one of the most important experiences of your life, you don’t even notice at the time. From the look on my father’s face as he hugged me goodbye, to a single tear running down the best man’s cheek, to my father-in-law gently taking my mother-in-law’s hand – seeing those pictures afterwards gave me a whole new perspective. When it came time to take pictures after the ceremony, I was truly impressed. Mario knew the Atlantis venue very well, he knew just where to take us to get breathtaking photos. Our families can get a little rowdy, but he effectively corralled all of us and got some great shots! Then he led my new husband and I away to take some more intimate photos. I was worried at this point – Jake hates having his picture taken, and usually it shows (he always looks stiff or awkward in photos) But Mario had us laughing the whole time and I have never seen such natural, flattering pictures of Jake – ever! Those photos of the two of us will be treasured most of all!Mario, you were amazing! Your photos are awesome and my album is unbelievable! You have a gift, you really do. I can never thank you enough for capturing every beautiful moment. My wedding day truly was the happiest day of my life, and thanks to your photographs I can relive each and every memory with stunning clarity any time I want. Thank you!
Mario was amazing for our beach wedding. He was very personable and definitely knew his stuff. It was scary hiring someone so far away without ever meeting them, but he was the best choice we could have made. We were scared our pictures wouldn't turn out due to the sun being in our eyes but his pictures were truly beautiful. Thanks Mario!
Mario was truly a blessing on my big day! There was a threat of rain during the time of my ceremony and reception, so I was beginning to stress out just about the time that Mario showed up at my room to begin taking photos-lucky him! As soon as Mario walked in, his positive and upbeat attitude helped me to start focusing on the task-at-hand, and we dove right in to taking pictures after he and I had a brief heart-to-heart about the weather situation and what he thought would be best based on his previous wedding experiences. Mario offered his honest opinion when I asked for his advice and that was something I truly appreciated as I am originally from Pennsylvania and had no clue about Bahamas weather!In terms of the photography process, Mario helped make everyone feel at ease throughout the entire day, and he made sure to keep everything light and fun. My 82 year-old Grammy was even having fun posing for pictures! He captured a wide variety of photos including accessories, backgrounds and details, bridal party, guests, and of course the bride and groom! Every photo was beautiful and unique, and we loved each and every one. He was extremely creative in capturing different poses and settings, and he was a great addition to our day. Mario was also a wonderful guest at our wedding, and he fit right in with our friends and families during the reception. He was so well-liked, that he even made a few of the photos : ) Overall, Mario Nixon did a fantastic job on our wedding day, and we couldn’t be happier to recommend him to any bride and groom fortunate enough to be getting married in the Bahamas! I am so happy that I chose Mario Nixon Photography for many reasons. First, I was not able to meet Mario prior to the day of the wedding therefore I made my decision by reviewing his work on his very helpful blog. The transaction was very easy. Throughout the entire process, I was in constant contact with Mario. We meet Mario the day of the wedding and was very happy with his professionalism. In the end, I was more than happy with his work. I absolutely love the pictures and his unique ability to capture the most important day of my life.
There are not enough words for me to describe the value of Mario’s service to us. Firstly, let me start by saying that I was a travel agent in Toronto Canada, when I planned MY destination wedding in the Bahamas. I came across Mario’s work on-line and saw that he had a great eye for group shots and for capturing intimate moments and emotions….which were both key for me because if all else failed on the wedding day, (and it almost did), what I wanted more than anything were amazing pictures to capture the beauty of the day and the Bahamas…and Mario nailed it!! He was on time, he was professional, his pricing was fair (worth every dime) and he was so pleasant to work with. One thing I loved was that he almost disappeared into the crowd, so he didn’t get in the way of others wanting to take pictures, but didn’t miss a beat either. He’s truly gifted and anointed and I would recommend him to anyone!! Sadly, in October, just 2 months after the wedding, my father was diagnosed with cancer, and passed away shortly after in February, and so those last pictures of my dad mean so much more to us. We now have these amazing pictures that have become precious memories that we truly treasure and are grateful to Mario for. He captured, what my father said was, the happiest day of his life and because they were some of the BEST pictures my dad ever took, we used many of them for his funeral. So dearest Mario, from the bottom of our hearts, thank you for putting your heart and soul into your work and may God continue to bless you, always!! :)
Our decision to be married in the Bahamas was a last minute one and with less than 2 weeks before our trip I wasn’t sure things would come together in time. I searched for a photographer over the internet and, without question, Mario’s pictures stood out above the rest for me. We were able to coordinate a time and date that worked for both of us and what resulted was better than I imagined. The pictures are beautiful! I was surprised at the time and attention to detail Mario put into each photograph during the shoot and how accommodating he was.
