The visionary

I'm Mario Nixon, a Bahamian destination wedding and portrait photographer with over two decades of expertise behind the camera. Originally from the beautiful island of Eleuthera, I now call Nassau home, though my work takes me throughout the islands of The Bahamas and beyond.

My journey into photography was unexpected. With a background in mathematics from The University of The Bahamas (yes, I'm a bit of a geek!), I was headed toward a career in mechanical engineering when a "summer job" in photography changed everything. That summer never ended, and I've been capturing special moments ever since.

What separates my work is the unique blend of technical precision and artistic vision I bring to every shoot. My mechanical mind gives me an eye for composition, lighting, and detail that ensures exceptional quality in every shot. This allows me to adapt quickly to changing environments, whether it's shifting light on a windy day, glare on a sunny beach, or dimly lit reception venues. By pairing artistic vision with attention to detail, I deliver beautiful imagery that reflects my client’s vision.

My shooting style is lightly directed rather than heavily posed, allowing your natural personality and connections to shine through. With a background in hospitality spanning 20 years, providing outstanding service comes naturally to me. My love for our islands’ natural beauty infuses my work with an authentic charm that celebrates the stunning backdrops The Bahamas provides.

I believe in creating a relaxed, enjoyable experience. After all, we’re in The Bahamas!

my approach

When not photographing weddings and portraits, I love to travel. I also love to be outdoors enjoying the beautiful scenery of The Bahamas, spending time with family, watching Auto Racing, or diving into the technical aspects of photography to continually refine my craft. I have a deep passion for photography and I also do corporate and commercial photography. I photograph yachts, luxury homes and Corporate Events.
